Why therapy?

Our daily lives can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, you can navigate this journey with confidence. Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, but rather a proactive step towards self-improvement. It’s actually the deepest form of self-care and compassion.

Don't wait until things go wrong to reach out for help.

Trust your instincts and that voice inside saying,

you should talk to someone about that.”

Choosing a therapist

Choosing a therapist can be daunting. There seems to be a million of us. It's important to know how to take charge of your therapy and hopefully I can offer some insight here. Finding the right match is key.

Regardless of our expertise or what interventions we use, you have to feel comfortable in our chair.

This is why therapists offer a Consultation, you should use them and here's how.

  1. Read our bios and choose people that stand out as saying something that is meaningful to you, or just gets your attention somehow.

  2. Set up a consultation and prepare yourself with some questions.

  3. Consider your struggle (anxiety, self-worth, ptsd) and what you are hoping to get out of therapy.

  4. Ask questions that give you insight into that therapist's style or approach. For example, "How would you go about helping me with my self-worth?" " How do you believe people make change in their lives?" "Can you tell me more about what you mean?" "I'm interested in your training, can you tell me about it?"

  5. If you feel interested to keep speaking to that person, that's a good sign. It's okay to not feel a connection or perhaps their answers didn't sit well.

  6. Book other consultations until someone piques your curiosity and you want to talk to them again. Bingo!

Remember, we aren't expecting you to be an expert on your struggles or psychological theory. We also aren't expecting you to trust us without showing you what we could do for you.

This is your journey - you're in charge.

Sitting alongside someone while they transform themselves is an incredible honour.
